The festival, which will be held virtually, will take place 1-4 p.m. EST on Dec. 1-2, 2020, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Office of Behavioral and Social Science Research (OBSSR) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

A new study led by researchers at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center and 好色先生 Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences demonstrates the potential benefit of using an anti-leukemic drug nilotinib 鈥 most commonly used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia 鈥 to overcome therapy resistance in metastatic melanoma.

Each year at the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center 鈥 Diabetes and Obesity Research Day, researchers from the University of Kentucky and other regional institutes share their current findings and ongoing research about the alarming rise in obesity and diabetes rates. Maj-Linda Selenica, assistant professor at SBCoA, led the study recently published in BBA Molecular Basis of Disease.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 23, 2020) 鈥 A study led by researchers at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center highlighted differences in patient diagnosis and treatment in those with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) across the state of Kentucky. Recently published in PLOS One, the study used Kentucky Cancer Registry patient data from 2007-2011 to identify trends in epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation testing and the usage of the EGFR inhibitor, erlotinib. EGFR mutations are common in NSCLC.
