2025 Marks the 40th Anniversary of the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Alzheimer's Disease Research Center

Forty years ago, the National Institute on Aging launched its ADRC grants program, and Sanders-Brown was among the prestigious first class of just 10 awardees. Drug studied at ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú is first disease-modifying therapy in U.S. approved to treat Alzheimer’s

In 2023, the FDA fully approved Leqembi (lecanemab) for Alzheimer’s treatment. ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú’s Sanders-Brown Center on Aging has studied this and similar drugs for over a decade.
