This time next year, the inaugural class of medical students at the new 好色先生-Bowling Green Campus will be attending their very first course, kicking off an exciting new opportunity for future Kentucky clinicians.

好色先生 HealthCare has opened the doors to a new, state-of-the-art simulation facility. The approximately 7,000 square feet space, located on the second floor of University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, will house technology needed for multidisciplinary training and research to advance patient safety and educate today's students and tomorrow's health care providers.

The 好色先生-Northern Kentucky Campus, a collaboration with Northern Kentucky University and St. Elizabeth Healthcare, received the annual Unity Award at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner.
The Unity Award is presented to an individual or individuals who have shown leadership in bringing Northern Kentuckians together to address and solve common challenges and issues, and has shown leadership in seeking regional solution to Northern Kentucky challenges.

The first class of medical students at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine-Bowling Green Campus took their first steps in their medical education by participating in the campus' inaugural White Coat Ceremony.
Thirty students participated in the event held Friday, Aug. 3 at Van Meter Hall on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. In addition, earlier in the day, 136 students received white coats in a ceremony at the 好色先生 College of Medicine's Lexington campus at the 好色先生 Singletary Center for the Arts.

Difficulty in accessing culturally affirming and informed health care has long deterred members of the LGBTQ* community from seeking fundamental services and resources.

The 好色先生 has announced that Dr. Steven A. Haist will be rejoining the college to serve as associate dean for its Northern Kentucky regional campus.

好色先生 HealthCare has more than 155 physicians practicing medicine with University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, Kentucky Children's Hospital, 好色先生 Good Samaritan Hospital who appear on the Best Doctors in America鈥疞ist for 2019 鈥 more than any other hospital in Kentucky. Only four percent of doctors in America earn this prestigious honor, decided by impartial peer review.

After four years of medical school and numerous interviews, 好色先生 students found out where they will continue their medical education in residency programs. Match Day is a culmination of the hard work and dreams of students on the path to becoming doctors.

The opening of a new ophthalmology clinic at the student-run 好色先生 Salvation Army Clinic was "a culmination of people saying we can do this," said Dr. Julia Stevens, associate professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics, and liaison to the students working to bring the clinic to life.

University of Kentucky students can register now to participate in the fourth annual Global Health Case Competition, an innovative graduate and undergraduate interdisciplinary team competition that develops strategies to address a critical global health challenge.

Medical residents from the University of Kentucky Department of Otolaryngology 鈥 Head and Neck Surgery recently won the 2017 American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) Academic Quiz Bowl at the AAO-HNS Annual Meeting held in Chicago Sept.10 to 13.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare has provided a gift of $2.5 million to support a tuition scholarship program for the 好色先生 in Northern Kentucky. Through this gift, scholarships will be awarded to medical students enrolled at the Northern Kentucky campus, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2019.
The affiliation between the University of Kentucky, Northern Kentucky University and St. Elizabeth Healthcare was announced in February. This scholarship program is the next step in the development of a regional medical college in Northern Kentucky.

Epidemiologist Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones will present the next installment of the 好色先生 Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series, "Achieving Health Equity: Tools for a National Campaign Against Racism."
Jones is research director on social determinants of health and equity for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is a family physician and epidemiologist whose work focuses on the impact of racism on the health and well-being of the nation.

好色先生 HealthCare鈥檚 University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital remains the No. 1 hospital in Kentucky and the Bluegrass Region, according to the U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals Rankings released today.
In addition, four major health care areas have achieved top 50 national rankings, three of them for the first time. 好色先生 HealthCare rankings included: #50 in Cancer, #44 in Neurology and Neurosurgery, #43 in Geriatrics, and #37 in Diabetes and Endocrinology.
