Applying to the Program
The University of Kentucky Hand Surgery Fellowship accepts one fellow per academic year for a single-year training program. The fellowship runs from Aug. 1 through July 31 and is considered off-cycle. Fellows split their time equally between plastic surgery and orthopaedic surgery, gaining comprehensive exposure across both disciplines.
Eligibility
Applicants must be board-eligible in one of the following specialties:
- Plastic Surgery
- Orthopaedic Surgery
- General Surgery
Selection is made approximately 12 months prior to the fellowship start date.
Application Process
To be considered for the University of Kentucky Hand Surgery Fellowship, applicants must submit an application through the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and register for the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) with NRMP Program Code: 1848363F0.
Required Application Materials:
- ASSH Application Form
- Personal Statement / Letter of Intent
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
- Must be signed and on official letterhead
- Three (3) Exam Score Reports
- Valid email address for application-related communication
Note: Applications must be complete to be considered. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
