Cathryn Benson, APRN, has worked 13 years in health care, most recently in hospital medicine and anesthesia. She wanted to learn how she could further help her patients with nutrition, but as a mom who worked 14-hour days, she never thought additional schooling would be an option.

Robert (Nate) Helsley has received a K01 award from NIDDK entitled "Elucidating Molecular Mechanisms Linking Fructose to Cholesterol Metabolism".

Dr. Webb joined the College of Medicine faculty as an assistant professor in the department of internal medicine in 1999, working her way up to professor with tenure in 2009. She joined the department of pharmacology and nutritional sciences in 2014 and, in the same year, was appointed its Director of the Division of Nutritional Sciences.

After a long and distinguished career, Dr. Piascik has announced he will retire, effective July 1.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 27, 2021) 鈥 Annually, Best of Cell Press celebrates the highest-impact research published in their journals during the previous year. A paper by Barbara Nikolajczyk, Ph.D., professor of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences and associate director for Translational Research in Diabetes at the University of Kentucky, has been included in 鈥淏est of Cell Metabolism 2020.鈥 The paper focuses on age-associated inflammation.
