A team of researchers at the University of Kentucky is working to better understand the impact of opioid use disorder on mothers and babies.
Every 24 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS) after being exposed in mothers with opioid use disorder.



The 好色先生 is excited to announce that Sandra Beck, MD, and Janna Neltner, MD, will join the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership team.
Dr. Beck will serve as assistant dean for program development. Dr. Neltner will serve as assistant dean for accreditation.

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Greg Davis, M.D., came to University of Kentucky in 1976 as an English major, with the intent of becoming a teacher. But after taking a job as a nursing assistant to help pay the bills, Davis discovered he had a knack for medicine.

Burnout is a problem in any profession, but it is rampant in health care. This national problem has been evident recently as the COVID-19 pandemic pushed many learners, practitioners, faculty, and staff to the limit.

The 好色先生 is excited to announce that faculty, staff, learners, and trainees will have free access to a leading online resource for medical Spanish proficiency.
CanopyLearn, a Spanish language training program for health care professionals, will be available to the 好色先生 College of Medicine community starting Aug. 1.

Katie Bussing, MD, Kalee Rusnak, MD, Adeel Ashraf, MD, and Tony Nesta, MD have joined the 好色先生 College of Medicine Pathology Department. Kalee and Tony both graduated from the University of Kentucky and have rotated through our department for medical school electives.
