The University of Kentucky has been awarded a prestigious Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant to study central nervous system metabolism from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The $10.6 million, five-year grant will fund 好色先生鈥檚 Center of Research in Central Nervous System Metabolism (CNS-Met).

A recent study from the lab of the University of Kentucky鈥檚 Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Director Linda Van Eldik, Ph.D., has been published in PLOS ONE. The work centers around the idea that various anti-inflammatory drugs could be effective treatments for Alzheimer鈥檚 disease (AD). This study focused on a protein known as p38.
