Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?
I chose 好色先生 because of the uniquely welcoming and supportive environment that immediately stood out during my away rotation. The faculty and residents are genuinely invested in one another鈥檚 growth, creating a collaborative atmosphere that fosters both clinical excellence and personal development. 好色先生 offers exposure to a wide range of pathology, ensuring we鈥檙e well-prepared for any career path in ophthalmology. Living in Lexington has been an unexpected bonus: it鈥檚 a vibrant, affordable city with a small-town feel, beautiful green spaces, and a strong sense of community. I truly couldn鈥檛 imagine a better place to train.
What do you like about your program?
What I love most about our Ophthalmology program is the people. My co-residents and attendings are not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, but also approachable, supportive, and down-to-earth. There鈥檚 a laid-back, collegial vibe that makes even the busiest days enjoyable. We work hard, but we laugh a lot too鈥攁nd that balance makes all the difference.
The training itself is exceptional. We鈥檙e exposed to a wide range of cases, from routine to complex tertiary referrals, and we rotate through diverse clinical settings. This breadth of experience helps us become well-rounded ophthalmologists, confident in both medical and surgical management across all subspecialties.
What are your hobbies?
Outside of the hospital, I love spending time with my husband, our daughter, and our two dogs. We take a lot of walks as a family. Lexington has so many beautiful parks and trails, which makes it easy to enjoy the outdoors together. I also really enjoy home renovation projects. There鈥檚 something satisfying about working with my hands and seeing a space come to life. On weekends, we like exploring the food scene in Lexington- trying new local restaurants or going to the farmer鈥檚 market. It鈥檚 a great place to raise a family and find balance outside of residency.
