When Lexington native Devin Thompson walked across the Rupp Arena stage at last month’s Commencement ceremony – he completed a journey that began when he was a little kid and continued during his teenage years.
The major first came to the University of Kentucky campus to attend what was formerly called the See Blue STEM Camp (now ), led by the with support from the , the and the College of Medicine.
As he grew holder, participated in another ɫ summer project through the . The program, based in , is a collaborative effort with the University of Louisville Health Science Center and eight regional centers to positively affect the distribution of health professionals throughout Kentucky. Through their , Thompson had the opportunity to “experience college before college.”
