Research
Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, accounting for nearly half of all deaths. My research focuses on the pathogenesis and molecular mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis, aortic aneurysms and dissections, and the renin-angiotensin regulation of cardiovascular functions. I place strong emphasis on team sciences and have actively collaborated with leading scientists in the cardiovascular research field, including Dr. Alan Daugherty and Dr. Ryan Temel at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Ying Shen at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Scott LeMaire at Geisinger, Dr. Scott Damrauer and Dr. Michael Levin at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Phil Tsao at Stanford, Dr. Dudley Strickland at the University of Maryland, Dr. Frank Davis, Dr. Daniel Lawrence, Dr. Jifeng Zhang, Dr. Yanhong Guo, and Dr. Eugene Chen at the University of Michigan, and Dr. Hong Chen at Boston Children's Hospital.
